More good news going into the new year as existing home sales are on the rise!
In last weeks blog post we shared the November 2009 Portland Metro Market Action Report and some of our thoughts about the increase in sales activity and the role that the first time home buyer tax credit played in the vast market increase of existing home sales that we’re seeing today.
A press release was just released on December 22nd - Chief Economist Lawrence Yun for the National Association of Realtors talks more on the current housing market and rise in existing-home sales in November as first-time buyers rushed to close sales before the original November 30 deadline. He also talks about another “surge” in sales as buyers take advantage of the expanded tax credit, which hopefully will take us into a self-sustaining market in the second half of 2010.
