According to the 6th annual report, the study ranked the Portland, Beaverton, Vancouver WA. Metro area just outside Sherwood Oregon as the 13th most secure in the country among large metropolitan areas. This was the 3rd consecutive year that Portland has ranked among the TOP 20 safest places in the nation in this Farmers study.
To complete their study, they took into consideration crime statistics, extreme weather, risk of natural disasters, housing depreciation, foreclosures, terrorist threats, environmental hazards, air quality, life expectancy and job losses in 114 U.S. cities with populations of 500,000 or more.
