It’s been nearly a week since the 1st Annual Edy Ridge Elementary School Fun Run! All the kids are so excited to participate in this huge school-wide event each year. The school spirit runs thick and the kids wear their Fun Run T-Shirts with great pride as they head out in groups to run the track and earn pledges and contributions that go “directly” to their school.
As a parent with three boys in three Sherwood Schools, I get hit up with my fair share of opportunities to support schools & donate in some way or another. I’m sure you can relate. However as a parent & sponsor, I’d have to say that the Fun Run is one of my favorites. Something I whole heartedly appreciate on so many levels because I’ve personally seen how the Fun Run brings the kids together for a great cause and know that the funds raised will ALL go right back into the school and help make a difference. A big thank you to all the parents, teachers, volunteers, PAC, businesses and local community who help make our Sherwood schools an even better place.

For years we’ve continued to support and give back to the local communities we serve in many ways. Like many, we believe it’s better to give than to receive, and that there’s no greater feeling in the world than when one is serving, helping, giving back or paying it forward in some way. We’re a family who cares about the place we live and also use our real estate business to help the families and the communities we serve through each and every personal real estate transaction – always doing what it takes and sometimes even more for the greater good of our clients.
With three active boys, it’s natural that we’re active sponsors & supporters in our local schools through organizations like PAC or the Booster Club where 100% of the proceeds collected GO RIGHT BACK to the schools, athletic programs and our local kids. Another of my favorites is the John L. Scott Foundation where with every single transaction we make a generous set donation to this amazing program that works directly with local area Children’s Hospitals – a foundation we deeply believe in through personal experience. A favorite of both ours and our clients is our annual Christmas Tree Event – since our first year in real estate, we’ve been hosting a huge one day Christmas Tree Event which supports a local farm as we purchase the gift of a family tree for our clients and the community a token of our appreciation for your business and support each year. (With over 100 families participating annually!)
The Gardner Team also sponsors in many other ways throughout the year such as neighborhood garage sales to our local adopt a neighborhood program where this spring we focused on neighborhoods and community value through a 4 week/400 houses “Thank You for Helping Keep Sherwood Beautiful” campaign.
At the end of the day, when it comes to being an active supporter, sponsor or volunteer – we’re just one of the many doing our part to make a difference and strengthen our community. One cannot be recognized for the efforts of an entire community- we simply live in place where everyone will find a way to come together and cares about making Sherwood a better place to live… one of the many reasons we love raising our family here!
